Strange doings out in the desert today with regard to the Big 12 title game to end all this weekend.
With all the questions about the health of Oklahoma Sooners star running back DeMarco Murray and Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Taylor Martinez, the point spread on the game has bounced around all week. Depending on who you asked and when, OU was somewhere between a 2.5- and 4.5-point favorite to beat the 'Huskers.
On Wednesday, however, the line jumped up to OU -6.5. (Historically, favorites in that range win outright approximately 66 percent of the time.)
This is important because of one thing that happened today and one thing that didn't.
Following practice in Norman, Bob Stoops lent credence to the widely held belief in Soonerland that Murray will be a go on Saturday.
Meanwhile, NU coach Bo Pelini has yet to offer much clarity on Martinez, except to characterize his status as "day-to-day." The most in the way of an update came Tuesday when Pelini indicated that T-Magic would be a game-time call.
A move that significant, though? To paraphrase The Coach, somebody knows something.
